Cleveland Clinic, founded in 1921 and located in Cleveland, Ohio, is a nonprofit, multi-specialty academic medical center integrating clinical care, research, and education. It is one of the world's busiest and most innovative medical centers, having achieved numerous world firsts: the first coronary angiography, first coronary artery bypass surgery, first successful laryngeal transplant, and first near-total face transplant in the United States.
In 2008, Cleveland Clinic became the first U.S. healthcare provider to sign the United Nations Global Compact. Its main campus has over 1,400 beds, with the entire health system totaling 4,400 beds. The Taussig Cancer Institute brings together over 800 highly skilled physicians, researchers, nurses, and technicians.
