Toranomon Hospital

Toranomon Hospital, established in 1958 as the central hospital of the Japanese National Public Service Mutual Aid Associations, has grown into a distinguished comprehensive hospital serving both public servants and the broader community. Located in central Tokyo, it provides acute-phase comprehensive medical services across a wide spectrum of specialties. The hospital's specialist departments cover cancer, hematology, cardiovascular medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology, respiratory medicine, sleep medicine, neurology, nephrology, urology, endocrinology and metabolism, pituitary disorders, breast disease, infectious diseases, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, and traumatology. Cross-disciplinary services include emergency medicine, intensive care, anesthesiology, rehabilitation, and comprehensive geriatric assessment. A new 19-story hospital building opened in May 2019 with 819 beds (216 single rooms), 20 operating theaters, and 37 ICU/HCU/SCU beds. The hospital's Health Management Center and Diagnostic Imaging Center offer comprehensive health screening programs for early disease detection and prevention. Key centers include: the Cancer Comprehensive Treatment Base, which leverages the hospital's multi-specialty strength to treat cancer patients with multiple comorbidities using minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery; the Cardiovascular Center, aiming to become Japan's leading cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery center; and the Stroke Center, integrating neurology, neurosurgery, and endovascular treatment for round-the-clock acute stroke care. In October 2020, the hospital was designated as a Tokyo Disaster Base Hospital, and in 2022, established a dedicated Trauma Center.
